Altitude: 26,000ft
Speed: 312kts
Distance: 563 miles
Flight Time: 1 hr 38 min.
Landing: Rwy 25 Visual Approach
The landing was almost text book. I had to drop some altitude prior to reaching the end of the runway hence the dip in the nose. Touchdown was well executed except for being left of the center line. Palermo was fun, will have to try more landings there.
Approach...great view coming in.
Touchdown
Next flight was from Lehigh Valley International Airport or formerly known as Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton Airport to Myrtle Beach. Like to occasionally fly out of my hometown airport since we grew up there and took many flight from ABE. Also used a throwback Eastern Airlines DC-9. Fun aircraft but this one is missing a virtual cockpit so a tad hard to land.
Altitude: 19,000ft
Speed: 290kts
Distance: 516 miles
Flight time: 1hr 32min.
Landing: Rwy 18 Visual Approach
The landing was a nice approach. Like I said above since there is no virtual cockpit it is hard to tell when you are close to the ground. The 2D panel doesn't quite give you that feel when you land. As I tried to flare you can see the plane sort of leveled off instead of maintaining its decent. Probably needed to be slower as well. Still had plenty of runway and a nice landing was executed.
Love the old Eastern Airlines paint scheme
