FSX Flights - The Big and Little

This post has certainly a contrast in size.  One big heavy aircraft and two smaller aircraft.  Usually the smaller are more fun to fly because of their maneuverability etc, but the heavy aircraft are fun just because of their power and size.  There is something truly amazing watching large aircraft take off and land.  You see the size and think its improbably something like that can fly and make tight turns.  So starting off lets look at a KLM 747-400 flight from Amsterdam to Moscow.

Altitude: 30000ft
Speed: 312kts
Distance: 1,359 miles
Flight Time: 3hr 12min
Landing: Rwy 32R ILS Landing

Landing was very well executed.  Probably one of my best in the 747.  Provided some interesting views like the Nose view.  And as you can see from the tower it was a hazy day.

Tower View - Hazy indeed

Next flight is the Dash 8 Q400 Alaska "Horizon" Airlines flight from Seattle to Spokane.  Flying over the mountains in the evening was nice but got dark very quickly.

Altitude: 18000ft
Speed: 290kts
Distance: 224miles
Flight Time: 39 min
Landing: Rwy 3 Visual Approach

Landing was again decent with some adjustments at the end.  Did come in a tad low but luckily there were no trees guarding the end of the runway.

Lastly is a flight in a British Midlands Embraer 145 from Lisbon to Tenerife North.  Both Tenerife and Madeira are two of the islands in the Atlantic that have very interesting runways and approaches.  I was prepared for an ILS approach to Tenerife only to have it cancelled and had to visually make the approach through low clouds and in complete darkness.

Altitude: 28000ft
Speed: 300kts
Distance: 822miles
Flight Time: 2hr 9min
Landing: Rwy 12 Visual Approach

As stated above I was hoping for the ILS approach but it was cancelled just as I was at the end of the downwind leg.  As you can tell by the video I struggled a bit leveling out because I was too low thinking the runway was very close to sea level, which it wasn't.  Also as I came over the ridge I saw those radio pylons so I had to navigate through that.  Glided a bit down the runway but with the EMB 145 there was plenty of runway.
